Transitioning

Do you have
all the help
you need?

Outplacement & Job Transition Coaching

WBW & Associates provides customized Outplacement Coaching that typically includes the following:

  • Career Interest Identification. Even top executives sometimes need help gaining clarity about the types of job opportunities and situations that will bring optimal satisfaction in the future. Although you may have already had a successful career (or two!), you still need to think through the full range of skills you have acquired and how you want to spend your work and leisure time going forward.

  • Resume Preparation. We help you create a resume that fully reflects what you have to contribute to your next employer and chosen industry. We assist you in tailoring your resume to the particular job you are seeking.

  • Interviewing Skills. Even experienced executives sometimes make mistakes while interviewing for a new position, or fail to sufficiently prepare for that all-important “first impression.” Our coaching includes practicing and mastering highly effective interviewing skills.

  • Potential Job Options. Despite preparing extensively for your ideal next job, accepting that position when it is offered is frequently not easy. The job may not be truly ideal, or it may include aspects that are not acceptable. We act as your sounding board as you think through the final decision and carefully weigh all your options.

  • Networking Skills. Networking is the most underutilized career practice among executives. And yet, most positions are ultimately obtained as a result of networking. We review your networking strategy and offer suggestions along the way.

  • Colleague Interviews. Knowing what current and former colleagues think of your professional skills and persona can be very helpful. Our unique coaching approach conducts interviews with these professionals, whose insights help you recognize your strengths and areas for improvement. The process also helps you correct misperceptions others may have about you. That helps you maintain “positive bridges” to those who may eventually provide important job recommendations, referrals, and other opportunities. The informed and unbiased point of view of colleagues can also provide you with greater insight into the types of jobs and job situations that will be most rewarding to you.
